Ah, I must have somehow gotten into the wrong repo, there were only three packages in there.
Now I can confirm that this bug is fixed for me on Intel i5 2500k, HD 3000, intel_drv.so 2.20.9, Ubuntu 12.10+Kubuntu backports PPA /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/intel_drv.so belongs to xserver-xorg- video-intel, not the KDE backport.
