Public bug reported: I installed the full "kubuntu-desktop" meta-package. Using "Pop_OS!" spin of Ubuntu 17.10. SDDM is the XDM that is being used. When I enter my password and click, "Login", the cursor changes to an "X" and you can't click on anything else or change anything in SDDM screen. It just sits there for 30 to 60 seconds without any sort of feedback or anything seeming to happen. Then, it rapidly displays the desktop. It seems like perhaps it is supposed to be showing a "Splash/Loading" screen during that time, but, I'm not sure if that is what it is supposed to do or not.
