Personally I'd recommend Debian for 32-bit machines, if you're unhappy with the support 32-bit Ubuntu has. Yes Ubuntu is still supported with the GNOME desktop, but flavors are now all EOL.
If your hardware is updated & using uEFI boot; you may discover you cannot re-install Kubuntu 18.04.5 or other flavor media; as keys for 18.04.5 & earlier media are no longer valid; which is the reason for 18.04.6 media was created (https://fridge.ubuntu.com/2021/09/17/ubuntu-18-04-6-lts-released/), where you'll discover no flavor was involved as they were all EOL. This issue will not impact most i386/32-bit hardware, but it's best not to check beforehand. Yes a number of us still use 18.04 with 32-bit hardware; but I used the same hardware I QA-tested Ubuntu flavors with (up to Aug-2020 as 18.10 & 19.04 had i386 media plus re-spins of 18.04) for testing Debian releases and it was mostly equal (one very slow box did better with Lubuntu for some reason). I very much doubt bug reports on 18.04 'universe' packages will get attention before closure in April-2023 (but hey, it's still possible) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to plasma-workspace in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1958044 Title: When got error clicking on notification pop-up then cant open error.
