You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Three monitor setup. Each monitor is a different size and resolution.
Their placement is correct in Display Settings.
On login or after a crash, the screens redraw with the desktop offset by
the width of the first monitor. Monitor #1 (smallest) gets 1/2 of #3,
monitor #2 (largest) gets #1 and 1/2 of #2, monitor #3 (mid-size) gets
1/2 of #2 and #3.
However, mouse-clicks still register where they're supposed to, as if
the screen is drawn correctly.
A screenshot shows the monitors drawn correctly. The attached image
shows the center monitor, #2: the app launcher bar should be on the left
edge, but instead there's the contents of monitor #1, then monitor #2.
Blanking the monitors or logging out/back in usually corrects the
problem.
