You have been subscribed to a public bug: Kubuntu 25.10 seems to be installed correctly on the VMware Workstation Pro 17. It can boot without any problems after installation.
- Kubuntu (Live CD): ``` kubuntu@kubuntu$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 25.10 Release: 25.10 ``` - VMware Workstation Pro 17.6.4 build-24832109 But when I log in, the screen gets black. Ctrl-Alt-F3 doesn't respond not only after login but also before login. In other words, the system is unable to log in at all. This problem happens for the following combinations : - Norma/Full installation. - Whether the "Download and install update following installation" is enabled or disabled. Regarding the Live install CD, Kubuntu 25.10 works without problem. I can try its desktop, Firefox, etc. Alt-Ctl-F3 works fine. There are similar reports in the community.
