This package contains the file /etc/fonts/conf.d/56-kubuntu-noto.conf, which adds Noto Color Emoji to the top of all font families. This always had the drawback that sometimes we would get emojis where text was expected. For example, this[1] table appears as just emojis (not on Firefox snap) normally but appears correctly if the emoji hack is removed. The same issue is present when some of these characters appear in code in a VSCode window. With Qt 6.9 adding proper emoji support[2], this hack is unnecessary. Emojis work perfectly everywhere in Plasma now. Even the keycap emojis, which this hack could not address, work correctly. So can it now be removed, please?
