I love Hugo and prefer it a lot more than Wordpress and I'm already moving some parts of kde.org to it. For the code hosting on KDE Gitlab instance, I don't think it will be a big problem but I need to ask the sysadmins if they are ok with it. Do you already have some code somewhere, I could look at? Otherwise, I will create a personal repo and give you access to it.
