Scarlett is continuing her work on building Snap packages for KDE apps. See https://www.scarlettgatelymoore.dev/kde-gear-snaps-round-3/ and other blog posts.
Her laptop is a decade old and runs out of disk space often which affects the speed she can work on this. It also uses more energy than a modern laptop. It would help her grealy to have a new laptop, she is looking at https://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-stealth-17-3-144hz-gaming-laptop-intel-core-i7-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-1tb-ssd-16gb-memory-black/6496178.p?skuId=6496178&intl=nosplash which is $1500. Can we use Kubuntu funds to buy a laptop for her? It would also need associated car travel costs to pick it up. She has also been invited to the Ubuntu summit next month in Prague which has flights and hotel paid for by Canonical but again needs associated car travel costs to get to the airport, can we use Kubuntu funds for this?
