Hi, As far as I know, rdesktop is almost a dead project, compare to freerdp, its a more active in development and adds many features for RDP protocol, such as RemoteFX, RemoteApp, and media sharing.
I'm not a freerdp expert and I learn how to use it while I'm implement freerdp plugin for krdc. But you can see how powerful it is by search it on youtube, it can play Diablo 3 from an remote virtual machine[1]. And KDE has this request[2] from 2 years ago. I found this bug while searching a freerdp client for KDE, so I think it might worth to write one. BTW, I forgot to mention that you need the latest freerdp[3] to run the freerdp plugin for krdc 1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUXYuj9S1v8 2. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=248896 3. https://launchpad.net/~freerdp-team/+archive/freerdp Best regards, AceLan Kao. 2012/6/4 Alex Fiestas <[email protected]>: > On Monday, June 04, 2012 05:03:30 PM AceLan Kao wrote: >> Hi, >> >> I wrote a freerdp plugin for krdc, so it could use freerdp as its >> backend to connect to remote desktop. >> I just uploaded it to my ppa[1], so you could try it soon if you are >> interested in it. >> >> And, sure, I'll submit the patch to KDE community, but sharing here in >> advance. >> >> 1. https://launchpad.net/~acelankao/+archive/kde > Just out of curiosity, why is freerdp better than normal rdp? > > From what I read on freerdp.com at least it has a library :p right nwo we are > embebbiung rdesktop app somehow :p > > cheerz. > > -- > kubuntu-devel mailing list > [email protected] > Modify settings or unsubscribe at: > https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-devel -- Chia-Lin Kao(AceLan) http://blog.acelan.idv.tw/ E-Mail: acelan.kaoATcanonical.com (s/AT/@/) -- kubuntu-devel mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-devel
