Quick Confirmation

Is this the correct code base ?

https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=muon.git

Looks like from Alex's commit log, that this now represent just
Muon-installer ( aka Package Manager ) as the other tools have been split
out, am I correct ?

Great, go for it.

Check the current Git source and find something to fix. Triage the
bugs and work on some easy ones. Get me or Aleix or someone to commit
changes and once you've got a few in you can apply for a KDE committer
account.

Also work out if you want it released with KDE Applications or in its own
time with KDE Extragear.

Hi

I'll take it...

I'm a bit of a freshman, but looking for something to play with in QT...

I'll need a few pointers and I won't be able to work much on it May
- Sept as it always goes crazy with family stuff then..

But if your happy with these previso's I'd be delighted to take it over

Muon, the Apt package installer UI is in need of a maintainer. It has
been split out from Discover and Updater which are application focused

focused and covers the surprisingly important use case of technical
users who care about libraries and package versions but don't want to
use a command line. It'll probably move to unmaintained unless anyone
wants to keep an eye on it so speak up now if you want to help out.

Correct. For completion, note that "muon-installer" was discontinued
some months ago already. What you're maintaining is "muon package
manager". The plan is to fade out the muon part from discover
progressively. For example I haven't split them on bugs.kde.org just
yet.

Thanks for stepping forward!

Great, thanks

OK so I am sooo wayyyy out of my depth it's feeling pretty exciting..
I've got the code cloned, and pulled into Kdevelop.
I hopped the first few hurdles with CMake and dependencies.
extra-cmake-modules
qt5-defaults
libqt5svg5-dev

I'm stuck on Qt 5 Qml I have libqt5qml5 installed and apt-cache search returns no -dev version

I'm on a stock Kubuntu 15.10, so maybe there is some magic dev "build-essential" type thing that I need to install ?

I'm making progress and KeithZG say's he'll help me too. I figured once I have understood how to build it. I'll share my notes with KeithZG and we can both have a hack on it...

It'll never compile again ;-)

Thanks in advance for advice on the above

Rick
