-no-acpi should not be necessary for Solaris/x86.

I've seen SIGILLs on AMD (Opteron 8218) as well. It worked on an Intel
CPU, however.

Is your host running in 32 or 64 bit mode? I used 64 bit mode (host OS
was SLES 10).
