Hi all,

I'm trying out kvm and running into problems reported as "exception
12" and "exception 13" and segfaults. I'm using a HP Compaq dc7700p
system with an Intel Q965 chipset running x86_64 Ubuntu Feisty.

When I try to run either kvm-16 included with Feisty or my own kvm-19
compiled from source, I get an exception like:

and lots of messages such as:
[77221.746966] rtc: lost some interrupts at 1024Hz.
in my syslog.

Similar symptoms have been reported by others as:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kvm/+bug/103665
and
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kvm/+bug/107172

I should mention that kernels 2.6.19 and 2.6.20 seem to have a bug
that causes this machine (and 3 other identical machines) to lose
clock ticks at the rate of 3 seconds per minute. (This problem seems
to have been resolved in 2.6.21-rc5.) This may or may not be related
to the kvm problems.

I couldn't see any simple switch to configure to compile with debug
symbols, but if someone can tell me how to do this, I'll use gdb to
post a backtrace.

Is there anything else I can report to pinpoint the problem?
