Just for you information: oracle8i works fine on current linux (we use debian 
5.0).
Even on 64bit platform 32bit oracle works, but for that you need a little

to tell linux to use old 3Gb user/kernel memory split (I can show you more

That all to say: there's no need to run Oracle8i on old (and buggy) system, 
current
linux works.

The host is Debian testing (kvm-72).

Upgrade to 0.10.5.  You can use my packages 
(http://www.corpit.ru/debian/tls/kvm) if
you want.

But better just run real system, without any virt stuff.
