So I have been using kvpnc successfully for sometime now. Needless to say I accidently blew away my profile. No big deal you say, just reload my companies pcf file and life should be good again. Well this is not the case, as I am now suddenly faced with connection timeouts. Nothing has changed, same pcf as I used before, same vpnc, same kvpnc but yet now I am timing out. Whats worse, I sniffed my network device with ethereal and I am seeing no packets being sent or received from the VPN Concentrator. I had this problem before but I can not for the life of me remember or deduce what the problem is again. I am looking for anyone out that has seen this and remind me what I need to do to fix this. Ohh, and yes the tun module is loaded, the startup script is loading and I even manually unloaded and reload to ensure this was not the problem. Speaking of which, I did bump up the timeout to 45sec and was checking to see if vpnc even tried to config tun0 and not tun devices were being created. It seems this was the key last time, but I can not remmember why.
