Hello,

I've discovered the following strange behaviour. I'm using KVpnc racoon +
ipsec tools version 0.6.6. with KVpnc version 0.8.9 (using kde 3.5.8) on
Ubuntu Gutsy.

When I enter the gateway hostname as a name, kvpnc gives an error as
follows:

info: Gateway hostname (my.host.com) resolved to "xxx.yyy.zzz.aaa".
debug: Default interface: "eth1".
debug: IP address of default interface: "192.168.1.11".
debug: Default interface: eth1
debug: Local IP address: 192.168.1.11
debug: tmppath: /root/.kde/share/apps/kvpnc/
debug: Using mail address as VPN id: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
debug: Using NAT-T.
debug: "setkey" started.
error: [racoon helper err] libipsec: invalid IP address while parsing "
my.host.com"
success: [racoon helper] line 3: Name or service not known at [ out ipsec
esp/tunnel/192.168.1.11-my.host.com/require] parse failed, line 3.
debug: racoon: /usr/sbin/racoon -f
/root/.kde/share/apps/kvpnc//racoonTC3.conf

However, when I enter instead the IP to which the name resolves, it behaves
as expected:

debug: racoon
info: Gateway hostname (xxx.yyy.zzz.aaa) resolved to "xxx.yyy.zzz.aaa".
debug: Default interface: "eth1".
debug: IP address of default interface: "192.168.1.11".
debug: Default interface: eth1
debug: Local IP address: 192.168.1.11
debug: tmppath: /root/.kde/share/apps/kvpnc/
debug: Using mail address as VPN id: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
debug: Using NAT-T.
debug: "setkey" started.
debug: racoon: /usr/sbin/racoon -f
/root/.kde/share/apps/kvpnc//racoonTC3.conf

I didn't find this listed as a bug at https://gna.org/bugs/?group=kvpnc .

Bruce.
