IMHO there are two more issues with github:

• As it’s closed-source, we cannot fix or change anything with it. It’s often useful to be able to tune your tools yourself.

• It does not allow private projects. While we want to Kwant development to be open, it is certainly useful if the same infrastructure also supports private projects. (For example for working on a paper.)
