John, I have been using dozens of them for close to 2 years and have not
had a bad one or trouble yet. I thought the same thing as you when I tried
my first one and tested it on my own td1232. Its a great piece & price. I
have noticed that they are riveted together, so I have not torn one apart or
investigated what needs to be done to replace the batteries when the time
comes. But they have been working great for the last 2 years I have used
them...........
Also BTW. I have been using "B" connectors on my installs for about 20
years for both alarm & phone and have not had a known failure from any
splice. I would call that a fantastic track record and will continue to use
those reliable gel filled bastards for many more years to come.
