According to my usually reliable sources, DBS is gonna die at the end 
of March 2003. I have to assume it was an expensive operation, and 
never achieved much market share.

Of course, _I_  reported it right here on 4/1/2001:  "the move helps 
Panasonic eliminate the confusion and expense of having two competing 
phone system product lines. "

CONFIRMED:

Future development of the product has been cancelled.

DBS will be discontinued as of March 31, 2003.
(Can't wait to see MNM's April Fools day missive the day after)

They will produce 1 to 3 years worth of "expansion equipment" before 
turning off
the lights in the factory.
