In addition to setting XDP for that extension to DISABLED (program 600),
dial 391 on the digital phone to turn PARALLEL ON.

Now you can dial a number through Outlook, pick up the handset and the call
will be on the handset. You will also have to cancel the dialing by Outlook
manually to disconnect the modem. No need to fool with other programming.

We have a commodities trader that uses this on a TD308 out of hits house and
he loves this feature. We took out a Norstar for the Pana.

Hi Tony,

Here's the deal...

The computer /modem dialer is set up to have a single line phone plugged
into it, pressing the "talk" button has nothing to do with your phone system
capabilities.

The real problem you are having is that you have XDP enabled. That means
that the xdp port on the back of the phone is considered to be a separate
extension. Also, you have line privacy that prevents one extension from
butting in on another call.

First (and perhaps only) thing is to disable the XDP setting for your
extension. Now, when the modem dials, the intercom light on your phone will
light up as the modem is sharing the extension. When you pick up the phone,
the modem will be cut off and the phone will take over the call.

If you program your phone for executive override, then you can butt in on a
call already in progress. But if you do it that way, you will have to tell
the modem to disconnect as well. Otherwise you will be having a conference
call between you, the modem and the other party.
