We switched from a KX-T336 to a Cortelco Millennium, so we are feeding it to a Millennium now, and are quite happy with asterisk, but it all depends on what you want to do with it. We wrote our own voicemail application using asterisk as the base and that has worked well. The Voicemail app that comes with asterisk is coming along, but still quite basic. We also use asterisk as a basic switch. Our PRIs from the telco come in to asterisk first, and from there we can redirect calls to other asterisk boxes or to our PBX. This works great in most cases. You can do all sorts of custom routing, lookups, and such, that you can't do with a closed PBX. Some people are using asterisk as a PBX; in fact that's what they bill it as, but in my opinion it's not quite ready to serve the phones on your desk, as too many features that you expect on a PBX are missing. > Perhaps what speed processor is needed for best results, etc. We're using 800 MHz AMD Athlon boxes for up to 4 spans. On our machines with more, we're using newer dual AMD Athlon 1.8 GHz boxes. We have one such box with 12 spans, but it starts to have problems when more than 200 channels are active. _________________________________________________________________ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt
