We just installed a KX-TDA50 in a rather large home
with 7 lines and 27 extensions. This install replaced
a TA1232-2 because they wanted more wireless options,
four cell stations in the home that is 37,000 Sq. Ft.
The customer has many complaints and some issues about
the way things work.

1. They are using a KX-TVS50 voice mail to answer 6 of
the lines connected (low traffic) so that each of the
4 kids can have there own greeting. This works fine
but the kids are complaining that they don't get the
Caller ID logs like they used to. I think this is
because there lines ring into a Incoming Call Group so
they can hear it throughout the house but then route
to the KX-TVS50. How can we make the Caller ID show
up in the log when calls ring a group of phones, then
go to a voice mailbox?

2. When a call does get into the voice mail and the
user wants to barge in to intercept the call they
can't like they used to.

They see the line lit and try to
press it to barge in like they could before but they
cannot. We also tried dialing a 3 after pressing the
button and that does not work. It appears they
removed the ability to barge into an existing voice
mail/CO line call.

3. Is it possible to have a Caller ID common button
that shows all caller ID calls that are received? The
KX-TA1232 did this and the customer wants to be
able to do this on this newer more advanced system.

4. We replaced the KX-T7885 phones with the KX-T7680's
and have 4 Cells that seem to work fine. They have
them set to get a line when they go off hook but now
they can't call (and have Auto Answer)the other rooms
using the DSS keys we programmed on the flex keys.
When they go off hook and then press a DSS button the
extension always rings. Why didn't they put an
intercom button on these new 7680 and 7690 cordless
phones.

We have another customer that needs 9 lines and only
12 phones and would like to install a KX-TDA50. I
think we will go with a KX-TDA1232 instead. They seem
to provide much better Caller ID options. By the way
someone told me that they think the KX-TDA50 will
someday support 12 lines. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks,

Tim
