I have found that the Programmator (pbxsoftware.com) allows you to do 
things that you can't ordinarily do from the phone on jack 1. If you 
have that program, you might give it a try. The barge-in switch is in 
the COS settings. No guarantee that it will work for a 1232e.

I have set up FRS and changed the station numbering protocol on KX-TA624 
systems with the KX-TA version of the program.
