The only Panasonic system available in the USA that will show a waiting message from telco VM is the KX-TA308.
You maye be able to find some accessory message waiting indicators that you can connect to spare pairs.

Subject: KX-T: QWest VMWI signal - KXT-D816 message waiting indicator
KXT,
I have a customer with QWest Voice Mail service and a Panasonic KXTD816 unit. When a QWest voice mail message is pending, QWest changes the dial tone to a shutter dial tone and I assume they also send a FSK Visual Message Waiting Indicator (VMWI) signal down the CO wire pair. Is there a device
that will pick up the VMWI signal from QWest and inform the Panasonic KXTD816 unit to illuminate the message waiting indicator on one or more phone extensions?
Thanks,
