The only reason I can think of:

I usually put all the "out of building" extensions on the expansion card
ports, so when lightning blows them up, it's an easy fix....

If the VM were on the expansion card, it might be out of service
too.....(lightning usually takes out ports in groups of four)

Subject: KX-T: New to voicemail with a question

Hi all....please forgive me if this seams ignorant...but...I've read in
a few places that it is not recommended to connect a TVS system to an
8EXT expansion card. My question is, why? I'm connecting our new TVS
up, and don't know that I will have enough ports if I don't use one of
the 8EXTs or without moving some phones. Just trying to understand...

Thanks,
--Brian
