Customer had a rat shack unit. It had a transformer that plugged into an ac outlet. The base unit was on one side of the door and a reflector was on the other side. Just like the ones used in the 7 eleven's. They said that it would go off for no reason. I kept the ding donger (buzzer) and roped a n/o contact that I attached to the top plat of the door. Its just like the ones used for alarm systems. It does ding gong every time the door contacts are broken. My power source was a standard class 2 transformer (18 to 24 vac) on the secondary windings.
