I don't understand the question (but that's never slowed me down ;-)  but 3 
guesses,
delay is-
1. the silence when music on hold should be playing while the extension is 
ringing?

2. answer the extension faster?   

3. while vm tells extension they have a call (record shorter prompt or just 
turn prompt off)?

oh, there's another issue!
"lists extension"   /  dials extension 
are you using for accounting dial 1, sales dial 2....
and mapped a table for 1 = ext 123, 2 = 142, etc

or

for acounting dial 123, sales dial 142 ...
 
using the first mode is (much) faster but means you need the laptop for ext 
changes
