The answer is yes, but you are making it overcomplicated. The fax
situation
is a bit more difficult. I believe that the newer VM's will do what you
want
and a VM box can actually take the fax. You can then check the fax
mailbox
and semd it to a fax machine on an analog extension. The other way is to
use
say a Fax Stick. This will direct to fax or to phone. I believe the TVS
can
do this. Brad

Subject: KX-T: Different voicemail on different lines with TVP50 & TD816

Hi,

I have a home-based software business am about to buy a TVP50 voicemail
to my existing TD816 setup. There are two lines each on the system for
home (1 & 2) and business (3 & 4) calls. I would like the voicemail
system to behave differently depending on the line the call comes in.
Basically what I want is as follows:

If a call comes in on line 1 or 2 and I am at home, I want all
extensions to ring and a person will answer (already got this).
If a call comes in on line 3 or 4 and I am at home, I would like the VPS
to check for a fax, and either transfer to fax, or ring only the office
extensions so a person can answer (already got this except the fax).

If I am out and a call comes in on line 1 or 2, I would like auto
attendant to ask what personal mailbox the message should be left in.
If I am out and a call comes in on line 3 or 4, I would like auto
attendant to check for a fax, otherwise take a message in a business
mailbox.

There is also the additional complication that I may be out, but other
people are at home, so lines 1 and 2 need to be able to be answered in
person, but lines 3 and 4 need to go to voicemail. I will obviously need
a button to set either 3 and 4 to voicemail or all lines to voicemail.

Ideally, if any of the lines ring for, say, more than 6 rings in "at
home" mode, lines 1 and 2 will go to auto attendant (as above for not at
home mode), and lines 3 and 4 will go to voicemail (ditto).
Additionally, at night, I only want calls on lines 1 and 2 to ring -
lines 3 and 4 should go straight to voicemail (so as not to be disturbed
by international clients ringing from different time zones).

Is it possible to set this up with the TVP50 and TD816? Could someone
describe (briefly) what the best way to go about it would be?

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Edward
