Howdy all.

This is my first post to this list. Please let me know if I break any
protocol rules...

Background:

I am the only one who tries to maintain the phone system here at work.
We have a KX-TD1232 digital system with the TVS200 voice mail system
integrated.

I do have all the manuals for the voice mail side, and have set up a
terminal to actually communicate with the TVS200 part of the system.

But the only way I have to access the main system programming is through
the phone on extension 101. I have no installation manual for the main
system.

We used to have 8 incoming (CO) lines. At one point, we pulled one out
of the hunt group to use as a fax machine. An outside telephone
installation
company came in to do that for us at the time. I'm pretty sure they had a
special program that would talk to the main 1232 box, which I do not have.
They set up the system to only use the first 7 CO lines at that time.

Problem:

Now, we want to add that line back into the CO hunt group. (And I do not
want
to call the telephone installers to come in just to do this one thing.)

I know that I need to get the telephone company to set the hunt group up on
their end as well...

I was able to wire line 8 back into the system. If I call that number
from an outside line, the CO8 light illuminates red, and the voice mail
automated attendant picks up the call just like it should. I can then dial
in any extension or automated attendant choice and the call is handled
correctly.

But once I hang up, and the CO8 line light turns off, I still can not pick
up CO8 from an inside extension to make a new call. The message says "CO
Not Assigned" and I get a fast busy signal.

Is there a way I can tell the system to turn CO8 back on so that I can pick
up CO8 from an inside extension? (And also have it get picked if someone
dials 9 from inside, and the first 7 are busy?)

Thanks!
