Sounds like a bad jack, or wet cable. Check your jacks and plugs for
corrosion. Especially the plugs. I've seen the taletell green on 4 &5 of the
plug,
which is your XDP port or SLT. Ringing voltage (90-105 volts) on a SLT will
degrade them quickly. I call the green stuff verdigris, like they did in
Huck Finn.
