Another reason to use the Panasonic Digital systems (TDA or TD)... You cannot assign message buttons for other extensions on the Analog systems...
The TDA even allows a message light for an ICD group (way cool!)... Analog Solution: Set-up a general mailbox 100 in the TVA50. Set this mailbox to "all calls transfer to voicemail" and set "auto-forwarding, move, 0:05 minutes" to the operator's mailbox. The operator would have their own mailbox with their individual greeting. The general mailbox 100 message would move into their mailbox, but it would have it's own distinct greeting. This person would know which messages were from box 100 - the system would say "transferred via mailbox 100". Finally, set route "0" and "No DTMF" to mailbox 100 in the appropriate custom menu(s). And/or you can set mailbox 100 as the operator mailbox and use "operator" for the "0" and "No DTMF" routing. You can even set different ring parameters for the operator (day/night/lunch, etc.) So many options, so little time! Voila! A general mailbox with a separate greeting from the operator's personal mailbox. Or you could just sell the 824 on eBay and buy a real phone system - tda50! ;-0 But then you'd have to use a certified dealer...
