Well, I gave up trying to figure out WHY the clunking noises happen and just
swapped line cards with the old system. There is still a difference between
the lines, but the noise with the older cards (in the new system) is
dramatically reduced.

For reference:

PQUP856ZA line cards: NO NOISE
PQUP856XA line cards: NOISE
PQUP440ZD line card: NOISE

Initial post:

We resolved our previous problem with a dead KSU power supply by getting a
replacement system on eBay. The only problem we are seeing with the new
system is that some of the CO lines make a "clunk" noise when grabbing them
for an outbound call (either thru line appearance buttons or dialing 8x).
This was not a problem with the previous system.

Synopsis:

- New system is a KX-T123211D(3B).
- (1) PQUP440ZD line card.
- (2) PQUP856XA line cards.
- (2) incoming lines are fine.
- (2) incoming lines make "clunks".
- The two lines that "clunk" initially had reverse polarity (but that didn't
cause this problem with the old system).
- Switching line polarity on the "clunking" lines made no difference.
- Moving lines between cards doesn't change which "clunk" and which don't.
- The old system had/has two PQUP856ZA line cards and one PQUP856XA
- Since the old system had several issues due to a power line glitch, I'm
trying not to use any cards from it.

Any thoughts as to why this might be happening, and (ideally) how to fix it
would be MUCH appreciated.
