KX-TD290, KX-TD1232-6 dual cabinets. We now have several companies sharing the above PBX.
I'm trying to find a way to set it up so the outgoing caller ID (CLIP) is controlled by the extension (station) that calls out, rather than the CLIP number associated with the channel that happens to be the next free one when dialing "9" to get an outside line. (I know I can assign each channel to a trunk group and then have the caller pick that by dialing 81, 82, 83, etc. instead of just dialing "9". But than means I have to split the pool of channels up between companies (different CLIPs), and requires that callers dial 81, etc. instead of just "9".) I tried blanking out the CLIP number on the first free channel and dialed out (9) from an extension programmed with a different CLIP number, but the call still showed the main number for the company. Is there some system bit or something else I need to change? Possible at all? Or is the CLIP programmed for an extension only used with ISDN and not PRI lines?
