The obvious is that you swap lines to get the cable out of the 
equation.  Next, a digit analyzer will tell you what the length of 
the flash time is in all trunks and you can compare that reading to an SLT.

I have a pair of spare Ziad's on the shelf that I might be persuaded 
to part with for about $80 each if you don't own one.
