Brent - 

Punch down the fax line at the punch block to the middle pairs of that
extension where the fax is connected to. Turn off XDP for that extension.
Connect the fax machine to the XDP port on the back of the phone or split
the jack on the wall so that the DATA wires (outside pairs) are connected to
the phone and the middle pairs are connected to the fax machine. You will
have that fax line connected to the fax machine directly. It is best not to
connect the fax machine as an active XDP or as an extension on the KSU for
you will get transmission errors. This can be done as long as you have both
pairs available instead of one pair.

Thank you all for the ideas.  I believe I have tried them all and still no
joy.  I guess the next step is to build sets of break out boxes to put at
each end of the station line to carry the fax analog line to the FAX
machine.  I will watch this e-mail string for any other ideas and start
