Bob:

There was an issue at one time with the TVS systems and the DSP codec, in
the instance of dropping calls when a cell phone caller switched cells. The
TVS saw it as disconnect and dropped the call. Also, women with very high
pitched voices caused the same issue. The TVA has an improved codec and
never saw this issue. I think at the time, Texas Instruments made the codec
chip and also had a higher grade one, but Panasonic chose the lower cost
chip and hence the issue.

There was patch worked out, and made some improvement, but never fully
cured the problem. Obviously, the TVS is at end of life and probably no
software or upgrade support from Panasonic will be offered. Time to upgrade!!

Hi Gang,

I have a TVS200 installed at a customer's place. Customer is
complaining that when people are leaving messages, often the system
drops them, so the VM user, when they check their voicemail, only hears
a few seconds of the message.

Is this tweakable / fixable?

Also, has anyone ever tried configuring Asterisk as a voicemail box for
a Panasonic KX-TD system?

Bob
