Thanks for the responses.

The situation was I just put a new D1232 into a Catholic
Church/Rectory/School/Convent in Bronx, NY. They have 5 priests who rotate
night duty, answering phones from their rooms for any late night or
emergency calls. Since a different priest is on duty every night, the ones
not on duty don't want to be bothered by their phones ringing all night. The
log-in/out does exactly what they want.

Night mode sets dil 1:1 to the ring group. The ring group includes some
downstairs phones that do not have log buttons (so they are always logged
in). That way if they are hanging around the kitchen or in an office they
can answer calls, but when they get back to their rooms, only those logged
in will hear the rings.

They get their voicemail turned on next week, so this will still work great.
"For emergencies press 3" and it can go to the ring group.

thanks again
charles
