I think that most T1 lines are set for B8ZS with ESF. I also think that
channelized T1 (as opposed to PRI) uses robbed bit signalling (the so-called
A B bits) to indicate conditions such as on/off hook and ringing.
It is a form of in-band signalling.
How does this play into the picture?
