Anytime you have static or noise, check for a wiring
problem. You could have CO1 connected to line 1 tip
and line 2 ring leads. (crossed pairs).

The most basic test is to take the 6pos plug out of
the ksu CO1/2 jack and plug it into a standard 2500
desk set. If the line is weak or noisy- the problem is
toward the central office. If it sounds fine, the
problem is on the ksu side (pretty rare for pano
equipment). The digital systems don't have the loss
problems that older systems had.

The telco will always tell you the line is fine. We
carry a 2500 in every truck. We will meet the telco
at the customer site with the 2500 set in hand when
they tell us it's the CPE.
