very easy-

***IF YOU WILL BE REMOVING POWER TO THE TVS50 DURING THE INSTALL OF THE
TD1232- MAKE SURE THAT ALL FOUR DIP SWITCHES ON THE TVS50 ARE ALL TOWARDS
THE LEFT*** - OTHERWISE YOU MIGHT LOSE ALL DATA AND ACCIDENTALLY
INITIALIZE THE SYSTEM AT POWER-UP!!!

First make sure that you have all 4 wires from an extension off of the
digital connected to jack 1 of the tvs ( since you now will have a d1232
using what Panasonic calls a DPITS data connection with the tvs, you will
get the two vm ports by using only one extension, (the second jack on the
tvs50 becomes disabled in the dpits connection of jack ) as long as your
td1232 is a recent model. If it is more than 3-4 yrs old then you might not
get the DPITS connection. as long as the d1232 is a dash 1,2,3 or 4 it
should have DPITS.) the 616 connection to the tvs50 worked off of the audio
pair (the inside, red/green ) the d1232 works off of the data pair.(the
outside,yel/blk - pair of the plug )
there should be only one programming change in the tvs that you have to
make - go into hardware settings / pbx settings and set the system type
to "KXT series - td816/1232"
you will not lose any other programming or prompts. at this point, the tvs
power lite will start flashing, and it will be off-line until you make the
connection and program the td1232 for DPITS.

Programming in the digital system - program #117(voice mail integration)-
enter the extension number of the d1232 that you have connected to the tvs.
once you do this, and if your tvs is correctly connected, then the power
lite should come back on steady - and on-line. the 2 tvs extensions now
will be extensions 165 and 166, and you should be ready to go. You should
not lose any data or greetings that you already have in use.

good luck - JOEL WEISER

Too all of you who remember talking to me over the past few years, when I
was working and taking your calls at panasonic tech support, I just want to
say hello and I hope that everyone is doing ok.
After leaving Panasonic, I am now doing pre-sales consulting / system
programming and sometimes full installs for a number of local dealers. ( and
selling and installing jobs for myself , when i can get them.) If anyone
needs my assistance, on a sub-contracting/consulting basis, or you just want
to say hello, please feel free to contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] (also,
any sincere job offers are always welcome!!) - JOEL WEISER

Subject: KX-T: TVS50 Change Analog to Digital

>I have a TVS50 connected to a Panasonic analog 616 and I am converting the
616 to a KXT1232 digital. I have the new 1232 all set up on my test bench
and ready to install, but I can't hook up the TVS50 until we install the
1232 at our business. What do I need to do on the TVS50 in order to change
it to use the digital features on the 1232, and I'd like to not lose my
prompts, and settings on the TVS50 in the process. Any ideas and steps
would be appreciated.
