Hi :) I don't known either. Do you translate names such as "Writer" and "Calc"?
If so then "Base" should be translated but it's difficult to know which way to go with it. Base as in solid foundation perhaps? The "Table"s are a lot like the work-sheets in Calc. They hold all the data but Queries and Forms and Reports are used to give different views of that data, in much the same way that different windows in a house give you different views of the outside world. Queries are displayed as tables but in "design view" they look a LOT different. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Faq/Base/122 You know in Calc when you press on the f(x) button to build up a formula? It's a bit like the same sort of idea but displayed differently. It builds up an sql statement but unlike in Calc you never see the actual sql in design view Sorry!! I don't think any of this helps! It might even be leading you astray a bit :( Which language are you translating into? Apols and regards from Tom :) On 25 February 2014 14:01, Nilamdyuti Goswami <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > While translating LibreOffice 4.2 UI for Assamese, I came across some > strings like *Base: Query Design*, *Base: View Design*, *Base: Table > Design*, *Base: Oracle Report Builder* etc in the file > *officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice.po*.
