I think the confusion comes because there is no "save" or "view" button
in the translation interface, so ocasional user is not confident if the
work is really saved.
There is, it's labeled "Publish translation" and without clicking it,
the work is not saved. And the earlier issue seems to have been due to
not noticing the "Translate this page" route to begin translating.
