Hi there

I sent the following email about a week ago and i got no reply. I still
cannot find any solution so here i am again :)

Has anybody out there really made a ppp connection using /dev/ptmx under
l2tpd v.0.69?
If so did he/she make any changes in the code?

My last effort was to use RP's l2tp way of implementing the initialisation
of the pppd. However although
l2tp works fine, i got the same timeout error when i tried to make the
changes in l2tp v.0.69 : "LCP:
timeout sending Config-Requests" .....

Any ideas?

Thanks and best regards,

Yorgos

Subject: LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests ????

Hello again to all,

After spening alot of time trying to establish a ppp session i still get the
same disapointing results:

Oct 1 14:45:03 pppd[3385]: LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests

I am using the latest CVS version of l2tpd as well as ppp version 2.4.3 and
Linux 2.4.19 running on two PCs, one being the LAc and the other being the
LNS. The whole procedure stops at the LCP configuration request and no
message and no LCP configuration acknowledgement is send as a reply, neither
from the LAC nore form the LNS.

Has anybody achieved such a PPP session using the patched version included
in the CVS?

It should be noted that the whole system works fine and PPP sessions are
established whenever I use the l2tpd v.0.69 where the "old-fashioned" ptys
are used.

Any solution to this problem cause i am stuck really bad at this point.

Tanks and best regards,

Yorgos
