Just a head's up. I've made a very minor update to the l2tpd.org website.
We've got a source code repository for l2tpd again! Yay! I set up a subversion server on a machine at home (be kind to it please!). For anyone that hasn't ever used Subversion...if you're comfortable with CVS, the transition to Subversion (svn) is very easy. If you've never used a source control system before at all...svn is fairly easy to pick up. There are fewer obstacles in getting started with svn than there are with cvs...the control of the source code repository seems to be nicer...it uses HTTP authentication (Apache2, typically for svn), which is tremendously easier to manage than cvs/ssh is. It gets, basically for free, all the benefits of using an HTTP transport. Pretty cool overall. Anyway...feel free to pull the code from svn. On other topics, it looks like I'm going to end up being a user of a Linux l2tp implementation in the near future, so, perhaps the combination of events will motivate me to update l2tpd with some of the updates that I know have been floating around the list. Its hard to be motivated when rp-l2tp is out there and its so much better in so many ways...but I know a number of people are still actively using l2tpd, so it deserves some attention. I also am going to be looking to add some other developers/maintainers for people that have been actively doing work on l2tpd patches recently since its tremendously easier to do with Subversion than it ever hoped to be with CVS. So...there's an update, let's see where we can go from here. :) -- Jeff McAdams "He who laughs last, thinks slowest." -- anonymous
