Scottsboro: An American Tragedy, is a Sundance Festival award-winning documentary on the infamous frame-up of nine black youths (13-19) in the deep south in 1931 on rape charges. It is how this case galvanized the NAACP and the then vibrant Communist Party USA that raised the money for their defense. It will screen Saturday, February 24 at 2pm at the Southern California Library for Social Studies and Research, 6120 S. Vermont Ave. (323) 759-6063, $5 donation suggested. ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor ---------------------~-~> eGroups is now Yahoo!
