Currently, there are number of lectures and forums on campus where you can listen to academic experts speak on terrorism and war. But, what about the news media? And what about peace? Our unique teach-in features two renowned journalists who have worked outside the corporate-controlled mainstream media. Come listen to the voices of dissidents and learn about the growing peace movement.
David Barsamian is the founder and director of Alternative Radio (AR)
(http://www.alternativeradio.org/), the award- winning Boulder-based weekly independent program. He is author of numerous books with Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Eqbal Ahmad and Edward Said. His series of books with Chomsky, America's leading dissident, have sold in the hundreds of thousands and have been translated into many languages.
Journalist Laura Flanders is the host of Working Assets Radio broadcast daily on KLLW in San Francisco. She is the author of "Real Majority, Media Minority: The Cost of Sidelining Women in Reporting." Her Spin Doctor Laura columns appear daily on WorkingForChange.
