Award-winning Palestinian filmmaker Mai Masri's most recent work traces
the delicate friendship that evolves between two Palestinian girls:
Mona, a resident of the economically marginalized Beirut refugee camp
and Manar, an occupant of Bethlehem's Al-Dheisha camp under Israeli
control. The two girls begin and continue their relationship through
letters until they are finally given the opportunity to meet at the
border during the Israeli withdrawal from South Lebanon. When the
intifada suddenly erupts around them, both girls face heart-breaking
changes in their lives.

The Palestinian Film Series, produced by The Los Angeles Palestine Labor
Solidarity Committee and !Caf� Intifada! in conjunction with the
Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions, is a monthly film series
featuring a different Palestinian film each month, along with speakers,
artist, musicians, and poets. The Purpose of the film series is to
raise awareness of the culture, social conditions and political climate
in Palestine in general and facing Palestinian labor in particular,
while simultaneously raising funds for the Palestinian General
Federation of Trade Unions toward the production of a documentary film
on Palestinian labor issues.
