The new issue of "Turning the Tide: Journal of Anti-Racist Action, Research 
& Education," Volume 17 Number 4 winter 2004-2005 is now out. It features a 
study of the "Protest Warriors" by Scott and Jerry of CenTex ARA, and 
"White Ignorance, Aboriginal Suffering" by Fenna Otten. A print symposium 
on "Living in NAFTA: Settler Colonialism in the US, Mexico, and Canada" 
includes "The Dialectics of Mexicano Liberation" by Daniel Salcido of the 
Tierra Amarilla Youth Leadership Institute, initiated by the Movimiento de 
Liberacion Nacional Mexicano. Other pieces in that segment are "O Canada? 
Separating Myth from Reality" by Samir Shaheen-Hussain, and "NAFTA: 
Femicide, Genocide & Ecocide" by Swaneagle Harijan. The publication, 
produced by Anti-Racist Action-L.A./People Against Racist Terror also 
includes "PART's Perspective: To Demilitarize and Democratize, Decolonize!" 
that assesses the current state of the Empire and suggests lessons that its 
opponents could learn from sports. Brian Leekley's essay "On Sexual 
Morality and Marriage" takes a long historical look at the controversy 
generated by Bush's proposed constitutional amendment banning same-sex 
marriage. The issue also includes material about the January 20 
counter-inaugural resistance, a piece by political prisoner Sara Olson, 
"Isolation is the Essence of Imprisonment," information on the Color of 
Violence III conference, "Stopping the War on Women of Color," an open 
letter from Fernando Suarez, whose son was killed in Iraq, to War Resister 
Pablo Paredes, and ARA's Four Points of Unity. A free sample is available
