This coming Monday, February 7, at Cal State L.A., Vik Chaubey, a PhD candidate at SUNY, Binghamton, and an M.A in Political Science at Cal State L.A., will give a presentation: "Venezuela, Social Change in the Twenty-first Century". A parade from Dolcini (the caf� in front of King Hall), starting at 5:30, will take us to the meeting place where we will arrive at 6 P.M. Mr. Chaubey will talk until 7 P.M. Three musicians and a dancer will perform. Roel Castillo, ex-President of the Humanist Association, will lead the parade.
The leader of the Cumbeley band, Joe Cumbe, will play the guitar; Hector Marquez, the the leader of the Xochisoneros band, will play drums; and Efren Luna will paly the Venezuelan cuatro. Clemencia Carroll will dance to the music. After the parade, Humanist President, Tom Louie, will welcome the attendees on our behalf, and will introduce Political Science Professor Michael Siler, who was inspirational to Vik Chaubey when he studied for his MA in political science at Cal State L.A. Professor Siler will introduce Mr. Chaubey. Cal State L.A. is located near the crossing of the 10 and 710 freeways (exit on Eastern). King Hall is located at the northeast corner of the campus, close to the Library. Parking Permits can be purchased from the kiosks in the parking lot.
