Please forward widely: The Attica to Abu Ghraib Organizing/Working Conference on Human Rights, Torture and Resistance will be held on Friday evening, April 22 at St. Joseph the Worker Church, and on Saturday, April 23, 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM in Dwinelle Hall on the UC Berkeley campus. Keynote speaker at the Friday night event is Cynthia McKinney. Focus areas are 1) The Criminalization of Resistance: Political Prisoners, Prisoners of War, and Systematic Torture; 2) The Repression of Dissent: COINTELPRO, the USA PATRIOT Act, and Grand Juries; and 3) US-sponsored Terrorism: Occupation, Colonization, Racial and Religious Oppression, Attacks on Arabs, Muslims and Immigrants, and the globalization of repression.
