Pasadena Post Carbon Presents Peak Oil and Permaculture
Sunday, May 29th, 5:00 PM Pasadena, CA Pam and Joe Leitch who founded the Portland Permaculture Institute and Joan Stevens of the Los Angeles Permaculture Guild will present applications of permaculture which can help our transition to low-energy sustainable communities. Joe and Pam Leitch are life partners who believe that permaculture and its related aspects could be a part of the solution to the current threats to the natural environmental. Joe has been a student of natural building, solar and urban gardening since the 1970`s and is on the board of the Home Orchard Society. Pam`s pre-permaculture areas of study included globalization, social justice and alternative economic systems. Pam and Joe teach and demonstrate permaculture in the City of Portland Joan Stevens is an ethnobotanist, biologist, and educator and is a co-founder of the Los Angeles Permaculture Guild. She teaches high school science out of her commitment to transforming the relationship between people and the earth.
